Need to note we stopped in 3/30-4/1 on our trip from St Louis to Wyoming with 4 kids under 11. So more than likely during the "off-season". Regardless, it was still somewhat busy. In saying this, we wanted to book this hotel for the kids but were very hesitant based off previous stays at similar hotels throughout the country over the years.
The rooms were updated, clean, and very quiet. We received an automated message alerting us that we're heading into the "Quiet Time" and to report any disturbances to the front desk. This was very cool and showed us they didn't tolerate people/kids running through the halls waking everyone up throughout the night.
The water park is connected to the hotel and accessible via the first and second floor but separate from the hotel which was a major factor in the sound, or lack of. The water is not heated other than one (maybe two) hot tubs which were packed with the adults and a few kids. Multiple water slides, lazy river, a smaller kids area, and tables in a central location. Something for all ages. My wife and I were in full winter clothes as we rushed to get the kids ready before the park closed for the evening. So we didn't explore and can't fully comment on everything. But the kids loved it and that's all that matters.
The restaurant within the hotel and next to the water park was quick and efficient. Reasonably priced and the menu should have something for everyone. We had pizza and it was good.
Lastly, just wanted to highlight the breakfast. What an efficient well oiled machine from Keith and Jane. Everything was stocked, clean, organized, and flowed smoothly. They didn't stop moving and were very friendly and helpful. I can't imagine what they deal with during the peak season with wild kids and exhausted parents but after seeing their operation I'm sure they handle it very well. They both deserve a raise and acknowledgement from management if they haven't received recently.
