This is a decent hotel with a good size waterpark that was overall a mostly pleasant experience. It could have been a great experience with just a couple of tweaks, mainly regarding the pool area.
A big reason why we came to this hotel in particular was the indoor/outdoor hot tub. We had been to this hotel years ago, and at that time, there was a walk-through with a soft, movable barrier to get to the outdoor portion of the hot tub. This time, they had the entire above-water portion of the walk-through blocked off with a fixed metal barrier, which required you to swim underwater to enter the outdoor portion. May seem like a small thing, but this was actually kind of a bummer that took away from the experience some… the point of being in an outdoor hot tub in the winter is your body is warm, so the cool air on your dry head and face feels refreshing — that is not the case if your soaking wet head, hair, face, and ears are directly exposed to whatever temperature it is outside from having to go completely underwater to get out there. It also felt weird to have to just hope you wouldn't collide with someone underwater (in a potentially awkward area of their body) coming from the other direction. From a public health standpoint, submerging your head in the higher temperature water of a hot tub, especially at a busy public pool, is just not a great idea, so for the hotel to have a pool set up in a way where you must do that to use the feature is just kind of odd and not ideal.
Additionally, the photos online show the larger green waterslide lit up to some degree… FYI that it is no longer lit that way and it is pitch black all the way down regardless of what time of day. Thrilling, I suppose, if you're into that, but a few of the kids who went down it enough were getting some motion sickness.
Lastly, if you are there Monday through Friday, regardless of any holiday, FYI the free breakfast ends at 9 and it is a hard stop.
