This was a Return Visit, from almost 3 years ago, where I remembered the quiet, the very comfy bed, and the great staff.
I loved the quiet and the bed this time, too. The fireplace in the room was very nice; had it on every night; looks beautiful and gives off a lot of heat. I love how you can turn every lamp on and off from the Actual Lamp, unlike other places where it's like you have to play musical light switches all over the room just to figure out how to read your book in bed. The jetted big jacuzzi tub in the room was very nice; all jets worked.
Hot, free breakfast was delicious. Loved the free cookies in the lobby and the coffee bar. Pool was cool but not too cold; had a nice swim; not too crowded; love the late-night hours for it. Staff is still friendly and courteous.
My only issue: When I arrived Friday afternoon, the whole place reeked of pot smoke from the current guests. This itself is annoying, but became very frustrating when the first thing you see upon arrival is a Sign posted at the desk saying how vaping and marijuana use are Prohibited in the Hotel. If you can't enforce it, don't bother with the rule.
**There is a pot dispensary only a block from this hotel, that I don't remember being here before. Maybe that explains why it seemed excessive.
Also, the pot smoke was very prominent on my floor, and next to my non-smoking room. I am an Asthmatic, with a severe allergy to the marijuana herb especially. I had to run the bathroom exhaust fan all night Friday and Saturday nights, to try and keep the smoke from entering my room.
I did let the Hotel know this, but there was not much to be done. I did notice they had Housekeeping deep-clean that hallway the next two days, with a focus on getting rid of the smell. As the weekend went on, it got better because the pot-smoking guests began to checkout.
