Pros.
Excellent breakfast.
Comfortable and very high-quality mattress with good linens, but. …
Cons.
The main, terrible thing.
The room smelled musty and like freshener! We hate overpowering odors. I'm attaching a photo of the CO2 level sensor. The normal range is 300-600, but when we walked in, it was 1256 (headaches start to happen at that level)!
Opening the window (which smelled like fried garlic) allowed us to get it to 1000, but it never went below that. If we closed the window, the CO2 level rose above 2500! This is alarming!
There was no draft, the window only opened a narrow slit and there was absolutely no forced ventilation!
How is this even possible in a hotel or anywhere for that matter?
The air in the hallway was also stale. There are windows, but why are they all closed? You have to constantly open and ventilate the room.
Another thing.
The soundproofing is terrible! The front doors slam loudly. The walls are completely soundproofed. We heard our neighbors talking when they arrived at midnight and woke us up. We waited until 1:00 AM for them to wash up, plug in all their appliances and go to sleep and by 7:00 AM the noise started again. Even though the bed was great, we didn't get a good night's sleep.
The aircon cannot be set to dry, only to cool.
Btw someone wrote about happy hour and pizza on the rooftop; strangely, we didn't find anything like that.
Titanium Elite, we were offered a choice of 500 points, a drink, or breakfast.
I guess it's been a while since we've stayed at a cheap Marriott hotel where breakfast isn't included. For example, the Courtyard Tashkent includes breakfast by default. But these aren't important to us.
After requesting a 3:00 PM checkout in the Marriott app chat, I was told they were almost fully booked and could only accommodate a 1:00 PM checkout.
I was shocked by the refusal; I hadn't even requested a 4:00 PM checkout, and after I repeated my request that this wasn't acceptable, they gave me a 3:00 PM checkout. Incidentally, I saw plenty of rooms available in the app for reservations.
All in all, we were lucky we only booked this hotel for one night, otherwise we would have had to leave early.
To sum it up, while it's noisy, you can use earplugs and a sleep mask to get some sleep. BUT in a room like this, with its excessive carbon dioxide levels and no any ventilation, it's simply unhealthy. Opening the window is the only option, but at night there were mosquitoes and a strong smell of fried food coming from some kind of hood, so we were forced to close the window.
We won't be returning.
