Although the hotel boasts a 4⭐️ standard, its current condition corresponds more to the category 2 to 3⭐️. The interior looks shabby and neglected, as if no investment has been made in it for the last 30 years.
• Insufficient cleaning: Although the room looks tidy at first glance, the details are alarming. There was dust on the windowsills and beds, the bathtub showed deposits of limescale and dirt.
• Technical condition: The air conditioning behind the curtain was in a dilapidated state and dirty. The missing window screens make ventilation impossible, which is all the more problematic since the hotel – although non-smoking – smelled of tobacco smoke (whether from guests or staff).
• Noise: Thin walls are a serious negative; every conversation, TV or door opening can be heard from the hallway and surrounding rooms.
Wellness and Fitness.
The promotion of services is misleading in this case.
• Fitness: Despite the fact that the hotel advertises a fitness center, when we asked, we were told that it was closed, and although there are machines in it, they are not in use.
• Wellness: It consists of one small pool with very cold water, a three-person hot tub, and a sauna, which we did not use. The premises appear unclean, which is also exacerbated by the poor lighting.
• Changing rooms: The common changing room is in a disastrous state. The lockers are old, rusty, and cannot be locked. Inside one of the cabinets were clean towels, but in the other we found used shoes of questionable hygiene standards.
Food.
The hotel does not have a classic restaurant; the dining room is only used for breakfast.
• Positive: Breakfast was tasty and the selection was basically sufficient. The brightest point of the entire stay was the extremely helpful cook, who prepared fresh omelettes, ham & eggs or pancakes upon request.
• Negative: The assortment of pastries was weaker and ran out quickly. It also does not seem professional if uneaten pastries from the previous day are offered to guests again because they are already dry and hard.
Location and service.
The hotel's strong point is its excellent location — everything essential is within walking distance. A plus is also the problem-free parking right next to the building.
Overall rating.
