This is one of the most difficult reviews I've ever had to write, because there are so many conflicting aspects, many positive and many negative.
I'll start by saying that the location is amazing. You're surrounded by nature, the sunsets you can capture from the first floor are breathtaking, there's a pool, a restaurant, private parking in front of the apartments, you're 5 minutes from Principina and 20 minutes from the most beautiful beaches… and above all, Valentino is incredibly kind and friendly. He even gave us a nice discount, and because we were so comfortable, we even added an extra night.
The apartment is spacious, with a large balcony, and it's fairly quiet (except for the restaurant across the street that decides to blast music at 1 a. M. ). As it is, everything is perfect.
The problem (and here, unfortunately, I blame the restaurateurs, because if Nature does its job by gifting you the landscape, you have to do your part to make the location perfect and exploit this to your advantage) is that the place is unkempt, completely abandoned, both in terms of cleanliness and the condition of the structure, which could use some rejuvenation.
As soon as we entered the apartment, it didn't seem like any cleaning had been done. Or, if it had been done, it hadn't been given the attention it should have.
A towel had several yellow stains (promptly replaced by the staff), there was a spider with several cobwebs at the entrance (a sign that the cleaning hadn't been done), and there was a lot of dirt in every corner of the house.
The same can be said for the pool, both the tub and the area around it with the lounge chairs. Most of the lounge chairs were broken, the gazebos had seen better days, and the pool itself was very dirty, full of dead insects.
After considering these considerations, I thought, "If I eat well at the restaurant, I'll give it 4 stars! "
Unfortunately, things went differently, and the food has nothing to do with it (although I'm pretty sure the pizza was frozen). Spiders on the restaurant walls are NOT supposed to be there; you'd be welcoming customers to a restaurant with spiders covering the walls. How can they not see them? This is a sign of negligence and lack of attention; it means you don't care about keeping your residence tidy, because I can't believe they didn't notice the filth on the floor and walls of the restaurant…
It's a real shame because the place has so much potential, but it's completely abandoned. Those in the restaurant business should pay attention to cleanliness in their apartments and, above all, in the restaurant, and both of those things were absolutely lacking.
Would I return? Yes, because it's a good place, after all.
Would I recommend it? I don't think so.
