It may have once been a 5-star "hotel"… unfortunately, too little is being invested.
The rooms are large and architecturally beautiful, but the bathroom is small and lacks mosquito nets; these were only available upstairs. One net was intact, but the other had three large holes. The shower has no curtain, so the bathroom floor floods every time, causing the door frame to swell.
The "kitchen" is actually quite amusingly installed behind two cabinet doors, but VERY spartanly furnished… two spoons, forks, knives, two glasses, two coffee mugs, two espresso cups, and two plates—that's it. The refrigerator (which included two bottles of water upon arrival) hums loudly. There was no stovetop, only a Nespresso machine, a toaster, and a kettle.
When we arrived, it smelled a bit musty.
The location… well, you know it's out in the sticks, but it's VERY quiet, except for the neighbor's dogs. Perfect for those seeking peace and quiet. The drive there was a bit of an adventure, although, as we now know, it's actually a "great road" *laughs*.
The pool is very nice and clean.
We had already ordered breakfast for the first morning when we booked, but apparently, Booking. Com hadn't passed this on… luckily, we mentioned it on the day of arrival, otherwise we wouldn't have gotten any. For €10 per person, it was good: fried egg, yogurt, some apple slices, toast and rusks, cake, butter, and jam. Each person got a slice of cheese and mortadella, and two (unfortunately cold) pancakes. The coffee was lukewarm (that's probably why the other table had a thermos).
The owner is very nice and cheerful.
Now for the criticism: it's advertised as a 5-star hotel, and even overlooking the need for renovations, there was something unacceptable… the cleanliness! We arrived in the evening… on the third morning, I ended up putting the garbage bags out myself. Honestly… in a country where you're forced to throw used toilet paper in a bin instead of flushing it, the bin MUST be emptied daily!
We hung the towels over the chairs on the terrace in the morning (and they blow away in the wind, or the chairs tip over), and they weren't even changed on the day I took out the bin myself, but only after the fourth of five nights. Sorry, but that's definitely not five-star service.
The floor wasn't even swept or mopped… and you can't sweep or mop yourself because there simply isn't anything there.
That's why we can't recommend this otherwise beautiful location, because they don't even bother to take the time.
Они, конечно, могли бы спросить, но обслуживание не означает, что вы обязаны спрашивать. В пятизвездочных отелях висят таблички «Не беспокоить», если вы не хотите, чтобы вас обслуживали, и вам не нужно спрашивать, нужно ли вынести мусор, поменять полотенца или убрать в номере! Какая жалость, настоящая жалость.
