You are also paying for safety, cleanliness, and relative quiet right in the very heart of the city — and in Marseille, safety is always one of the key criteria when choosing accommodation. On the other hand, at this price point you might reasonably expect a slightly higher level of comfort. In short: yes, it is overpriced because of the location and the view, but if you set that aside, it is a perfectly acceptable, modern, and cozy small hotel for a mobile solo traveler or an active couple.
Despite being located in the busiest and noisiest part of the city, with evening concerts along the waterfront, the hotel itself is quite quiet. The interior is stylish and modern, and it works very well within the historic building.
In summary: this is not the freshest post-trip review, but I would still recommend the hotel as “not cheap, but reliable and safe” — just be sure to consider all the nuances and decide what matters most to you.
