If I could use a word to describe this hotel, generally, it would be armpit. Literally the armpit of hotels. There are a few worse places I’m sure. Maybe not a camels armpit which might be full of fleas, but an armpit nonetheless. Let me explain.
We booked a room for 5. Paid for in advance … there are limited hotels that have a room for 5, but I expected at least a pull out couch in addition to the 2 queens. Nope. 2 queens. A cot was available for an extra $20 per night and the (not) helpful front staff noted “it’s very apparent from the picture”.
The stay includes 25% off breakfast at the Whitespot and 10% otherwise which is a perk I guess. Proximity is VERY close to a Tim’s so that was a welcome positive.
The front rooms are NOISY. You could throw a rock and hit the highway and the windows do little to combat the noise. The blackout blinds ARE quite effective and the room at least was clean.
The hotel is under construction which leads to limited parking but that wasn’t a huge inconvenience.
Upon a visit to the pool, it was noted that no towels were on the racks. I called the front desk to have more brought up and was informed they were “out of towels”.
How does a hotel run out of towels? I can handle $20 for a cot even though it feels at best deceptive and at worst robbery, but the dripping walk back to a hotel room that shorts you towels in your room also? It reeks of pore management.
In short, maybe the issues I had, you won’t have. If you get an even numbered room, that should put you at the quieter side of the hotel.
